What is Building Hand-Eye Coordination For Kids ?

Hand-eye coordination movements develop between the ages of 4 to 14 months. The viscal/visual input their brains get is processed into fine/gross motor skills which help them make necessary movements. Simply put, a child’s ability to perform controlled body movements with their hands and legs by processing the information their eyes receive is called hand-eye coordination. This is a part of their cognitive development. As a child grows, they must be able to perform certain coordinated activities based on their age. These are called the developmental milestones. The baby will be able to reach for a toy and grasp it properly by 9 months and stand without support by 12 months.

What is Critical Care ?

Critical care is medical care for people who have life-threatening injuries and illnesses. It usually takes place in an intensive care unit (ICU). Our team of specially-trained health care providers give you 24-hour care. This includes using machines to constantly monitor your vital signs. You need critical care if you have a life-threatening illness or injury, such as: Severe burns, COVID-19, Shock, Stroke

How is it done?

  • Ball activities – playing catch with a friend, throwing the ball in their direction, or allowing them to push the ball to and fro
  • Painting and drawing – placing an array of paints before your kid and letting them paint their own masterpieces on paper help a lot. The same goes with a chalk and a board.
  • Building blocks – the child gets an idea of making structures by themselves in different variations and shapes, thus sharpening their cognitive skills.
  • Balanced walking – practicing walking in a straight line or on a beam is helpful as it requires full body coordination.
  • Puzzles – simple 4-6 pieces puzzle activities not only improve their coordination but also their IQ skills.

How is it done?

  • Catheters, flexible tubes used to get fluids into the body or to drain fluids from the body
  • Dialysis machines ("artificial kidneys") for people with kidney failure
  • Feeding tubes, which give you nutritional support
  • Intravenous (IV) tubes to give you fluids and medicines
  • Machines which check your vital signs and display them on monitors
  • Oxygen therapy to give you extra oxygen to breathe in
  • Tracheostomy tubes, which are breathing tubes. The tube is placed in a surgically made hole that goes through the front of the neck and into the windpipe.
  • Ventilators (breathing machines), which move air in and out of your lungs. This is for people who have respiratory failure.
