What is CT scan ?

Ct scan or Computed Tomography is a diagnostic procedure that provides real-time imaging. It uses a combination of X-ray and computer technology to provide high-resolution images. It generates a ‘slice’ or cut of a three-dimensional image in a two-dimensional pattern. A radiographic beam is emitted from
a tube that passes through the body tissues and hits the detectors. The detectors convert the photon signals from the beam into analyzable images on the connected computer screen. A CT scan is the most helpful to detect internal organ abnormalities, guide biopsies, assess malignancies, trauma injuries and more. With CT scan, differences in the densities as low as 1% can also be recognized.

Arthrogram

An arthrogram is a diagnostic procedure done specifically for joint pain problems. Hip joint, Shoulder joint, knee joint, elbow joint, pelvic and wrist joint defects can be diagnosed with the help of an arthrogram. With the help of a prior injected dye, the ligaments, tendons and cartilages of these joints can be visualized in the resultant image.

Myelogram

A Myelogram is a diagnostic technique done to detect problems involving the spinal canal. It is done along along with an X-ray, CT, or MRI scan. A contrast dye is used to identify where the defect lies. Vertebral anomalies, spinal root problems, spinal cord problems, neural anomalies, pain involving the lower back, disc irregularities, nerve root problems and more can be diagnosed with the help of a myelogram.

Ultrasound

Ultrasound, also known as sonography is a diagnostic procedure that uses sound waves to form an image of the target area. The image is called a sonogram. It is done to study individual organ abnormalities and pathologies. It is mostly performed on the ovaries, gall bladder, stomach, liver, kidneys, thyroid and other organs.
