What is Magnetic Therapy ?

It is a type of physiotherapy and pain management that takes advantage of the minuscule magnetic energy present in all cells of an individual’s body. When the magnetic field created by the magnetic therapy unit comes in contact or is placed near that of the human body, the human body’s cells and their disturbed magnetic fields align to that of the machine, thus, getting rid of the pain. This is done in patients suffering from fibromyalgia pain, headaches, lower back pain, insomnia, arthritis, poor wound healing, trauma pain and more. These magnets are called therapeutic magnets and are nowadays being used in massage patches, beds, shoes and even heat packs.

  • The patient should get rid of metal objects, accessories and jewelry. The procedure can’t be done on patients with body implants or pace-makers as the metal objects with the magnetic field.
  • The patient is asked to sit down or lay down comfortably and the therapeutic magnets are set into place.
  • The procedure time depends on the patient’s age and health conditions. The process usually takes from 30 minutes to 2 hours.
  • The affected area or the most painful area should be in direct contact with the magnet.
  • The affected area or the most painful area should be in direct contact with the magnet.
  • If the magnet is embedded into daily ear accessories, then the patient can use them freely but with a therapist’s guidance.
